Requirements

In the state of Florida, you must be at least 15 years old and have a valid learners license/permit to take behind the wheel driving lessons. I only offer behind the wheel (In Car) driving lessons. No matter what your age (15, 18, 30, or 65) you must obtain a Florida Learners License/Permit to take behind the wheel driving lessons. 

First, you must take the four-hour online class. You can find the class here (make sure you sign up online as they do not offer live classes in Tampa from this provider): https://tlsae.floridasafety.org/Default.asp Once you complete the course, make sure you have your certificate of completion and keep it in a safe place as you will need it later.

Second, download the Florida driver's handbook here: https://www.flhsmv.gov/resources/handbooks-manuals/ and study the sections on road rules and road signs. Once you feel like you grasp those sections you can take a practice test here: https://www.flhsmv.gov/driver-licenses-id-cards/practice-test/

If you did well on the practice test then you are ready for the final step.

Finally, make an appointment at your county tax collector (If you live in Hillsborough County register at the Hillsborough County Tax Collector, if you live in Pasco County register at the Pasco County Tax Collector, etc.) for a Driver License: Written Test. and for Pasco County they just do walk-ins for written test services, but the information can be found here: https://www.pascotaxes.com/license/

IMPORTANT: MAKE SURE YOU MAKE THE APPOINTMENT FOR THE CORRECT SERVICE (DRIVERS LICENSE: WRITTEN TEST). IF YOU MAKE IT FOR THE WRONG SERVICE, THEY WILL NOT SERVE YOU. ALSO, MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION FROM THE FOUR-HOUR ONLINE CLASS. YOU WILL ALSO NEED DOCUMENTS TO COMPLY WITH THE REAL ID ACT. A LIST OF THE DOCUMENTS YOU NEED CAN BE FOUND HERE: https://www.flhsmv.gov/driver-licenses-id-cards/what-to-bring/u-s-citizen/ ONCE YOU PASS THE WRITTEN TEST, SHOW THEM YOUR ONLINE CLASS CERTIFICATE, YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO PASS A VISION TEST (SO MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR GLASSES OR HAVE YOUR CONTACT LENSES IN IF YOU NEED THEM), AND PRESENT YOUR DOCUMENTS. THEY WILL THEN ISSUE YOU A LEARNER'S PERMIT AND YOU CAN THEN TAKE BEHIND THE WHEEL DRIVING LESSONS WITH ME!
